It is an exciting time for Dragons Breath (DB) with the acquisition of new instruments and the process of integrating them into our sets. Adding a viola and a flute can bring new dimensions and textures to our music, allowing for even more versatility in the arrangements.
Tweaking previous arrangements to accommodate these new voices shows our commitment to evolving and expanding the Dragons Breath sound. Over the winter DB have been actively performing at Folk Clubs and Open Mics in South Wales and the Borders. Regular performances are not only opportunities to showcase our music but also valuable for honing our skills and connecting with our audience.
Recording a second album can be both challenging and rewarding. It’s a chance to capture our musical progress and creativity in a tangible form. Having someone like Mike Hopkins with his valuable recording experience to assist us in crafting our new album is incredibly beneficial. Recording can be a complex process, requiring both technical expertise and artistic vision. With Mike’s guidance, we are able to navigate through the challenges of recording and ensure that our music is captured and presented in the best possible way.
We had a fantastic time last month performing at the Forest of Dean Folk Club near Coleford! Having a supportive audience who appreciates our blend of serious songs and silliness can make all the difference in a performance. And it’s always invaluable to have skilled sound technicians like Geoff Cripps and Wynford Jones who understand and accommodate our unique sound requirements. They really helped enhance our performance and made it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Here’s to more successful gigs in the future!
